Overview
No trip to Dublin is complete without visiting one of the most famous memorial gardens in Europe. Dedicated to the memory of the thousands of Irish soldiers who died in the 1914-1918 war, their names are contained in the granite bookrooms in the Gardens. The gardens are not only a place of remembrance for these soldiers but are also of architectural interest and of great beauty. The gardens were designed by the famous architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens.

If you don’t feel up to the walk the 123 Dublin stops besides Trinity College and will leave a short distance from the Gardens or you can take the redline LUAS and depart at the Fatima stop and make the short walk down the South Circular Road.

Admission to the Gardens is free and guided tours can be arranged upon request. The closing times of the garden will vary depending on daylight hours so you should phone ahead to ensure that you will have sufficient time to enjoy all the gardens has to offer.
